Brainless, Mindless and Senseless

“If we are to understand how society works, we must attempt to define the general nature and range of our ignorance concerning it.”

Malaysia has never been a dull place to live in. Day after day we encounter brainless, mindless and senseless leaders of the highest calibre who make the most nonsensical policies. There is an old saying that says the longer we live, the more wisdom we acquire. In the land of Malaysia, the opposite holds true. It seems that the longer or older one gets, the more senile one becomes. It’s funny that while we think we’re doing something beneficial, the exact opposite occurs.

Lately there’s this news that Muslim couples who want to get married have to first go through HIV tests. Now the government is contemplating whether this ruling should extend to non-Muslim couples as well. The reason for this ruling appears to be due to the rising number of HIV infected women. Of course the government is trying to do something good. But why do it this way?

The government seems to have this idea that laws and rules are the best ways to solve all our problems. We have this problem, let’s make this law. We have that problem, let’s make a new rule. Laws and rules, however, do not solve all our problems, and cannot be said to be the best way to solve any problem. No matter how severe the problem is, the government has to accept that interference through laws or rules will not make things better. The government has no purpose to interfere into an individual’s private life, whatever the outcome may be or for whatever means it serves.

By having such policies, it is implying that full grown up adults are not able to care for themselves. As a matter of fact, this is one of the biggest problems of our country today. The leaders, or government, seem to think that the people, or society, are children, depending on the government for every advice. We have always had a paternalistic government, thinking that it must oversee and decide everything, or that if there is a problem, its role is to prevent the problem. Of course in most cases, more likely than not, it is exactly government interference that aggravates the problem, not overcome the problem.

Make no mistake I am not denying that there is, or that there may be a problem. However affairs of an individual especially in the private sphere of life do not concern the government. Be it for better or worse, how an individual decides to live his or her life is entirely up to that individual. That there is a problem we acknowledged. Nevertheless, leave it to the individual or society to sort it out. In any case, the government can and should help, but not through such rulings and policies.

Is it true that Neil Armstrong landed on Moon?(part 1)

I've watched a documentary today about the hoax of moon landing, which happened in year 1969.It was fascinating and sometimes I'm thinking,is that everything that our history book told us,is actual real?

The hoax rises up when some of actual things that happened at Moon were not logic, some of them does not make sense at all.

Predominant hoax claims

A number of different hoax theories have been advanced. No one has proposed a complete narrative of how the hoax could have been perpetrated, but instead believers focus on perceived gaps or inconsistencies in the historical record of the missions. Several of these ideas and their most readily identifiable proponents are described below:

Complete hoax — The idea that the entire human landing program was completely falsified from start to finish. Some claim that the technology to send men to the Moon was insufficient or that the Van Allen radiation belts, solar flares, solar wind, coronal mass ejections and cosmic rays made such a trip impossible.

Partial hoax/unmanned landings — Bart Sibrel has stated that the crew of Apollo 11 and subsequent astronauts had faked their orbit around the Moon and their walk on its surface by trick photography, and that they never got more than halfway to the Moon. A subset of this proposal is advocated by those who concede the existence of retroreflectors and other observable human-made objects on the Moon. British publisher Marcus Allen represented this argument when he said "I would be the first to accept what [telescope images of the landing site] find as powerful evidence that something was placed on the Moon by man." He goes on to say that photographs of the lander would not prove that America put men on the Moon. "Getting to the Moon really isn't much of a problem – the Russians did that in 1959, the big problem is getting people there." His argument focuses around NASA sending robot missions because radiation levels in space were lethal to humans. Another variant on this is the idea that NASA and its contractors did not recover quickly enough from the Apollo 1 fire, and so all the early Apollo missions were faked, with Apollo 14 or 15 being the first authentic mission.

Manned landings, with cover-ups
William Brian believes that the astronauts may have used "a secret zero gravity device" derived from technology found on a "captured extraterrestrial spaceship," but that NASA was compelled to cover up these facts and others relating to the gravity and the presence of atmosphere on the moon in order to maintain secrecy surrounding the alien space ship.
Others believe that, while astronauts did land on the Moon, they covered up what they found, whether it was gravitational anomalies, alien artifacts, or alien encounters.Philippe Lheureux, in Lumières sur la Lune (Lights on the Moon), said that astronauts did land on the Moon, but that, in order to prevent other nations from benefiting from scientific information in the real photos, NASA published fake images.

Actual lunar landing - faked filming – Still others believe that men did land on the moon, but that the photography was of very low media quality and in most cases unsuitable or even unusable. Therefore the U.S. government (NASA), since it had to present proof of the space program's success to justify taxpayers' money and keep the program alive, altered, modified and even faked many of the pictures and video, launching a subsequent media campaign with great success.

History sometimes fascinating,guys,any comment?

Meanwhile, enjoy some of the footage about this fascinating "moon hoax".

English is just a language.

As a respond for my friend vanguard for his entry about English in Science and Mathematics,I'm glad that this issue has been viewed, either love or hate it,the issue about Science and Maths in English is already cripples our society, whether all of you realizing it,or not.

English,is a language, rooted from East Germanic tribe Anglo-Saxon,which traveled to British Isles after the mass movement of German tribe Angeln since Rome ages, and contribute for development of capital city of Rome's province of Brittania,Londinium, known as London.

After the collapse of Rome Empire, the English develops to rule themselves in the isles. However, native population of Celtic(represents Irish,Scottish,Brittany,Wales and Isle of Man,that's why Ezreen so proud to be Celtic FC fan,I guess..),and this German intruders suddenly established England as their kingdom, and with wars and mass murders of the Celtic, this barbaric German tribes becomes force of British Isles. And the monarch established, after the conquest of Kent and Sussex from Mercia in 825.Cut the history, this German tribe suddenly became the greatest superpower in the world, and conquered East to West,as East as Samoan islands and West of Hawaii.

Pax Brittanica, happens since War of Waterloo in 1815 until World War II,as establishing that only English culture considers as "culture".And since then,English became so important that we all need to learn English, while they don't even need to learn our language.

After World War II,the superpowers turns hand to America.Since America also speaks English, the supremacy of English as international language accepted by whole world, except for those who refuse to use it,(Spanish,French etc.)

Why we need to learn English? Some says it's an international language.By enforcement of this superpower(British and America),we simply accept this as "international language".

Nowadays people in the world considers that whoever can't speaks English-it's like your IQ be leveled down, because you can't communicate with your boss, your lecturer, your peers, your business partner. If we travels to Sweden,we speaks English, not Swedes. If we travels to Poland,we speaks English, not Polish. This is ridiculous.I believe IQ is nothing related with your mother tongue it is.

And whoever uses bombastic words of English considers as the great person. And actually, our mind still accepts this hegemony after globalization urging us for multilateral co-operation.

And lately, our idiot government still insist for Science and Math in English. What makes a different to teach Science and Math in English,or in Malay?I believe during Islamic civilization, they speaks Arabic for Maths. No problem right? In Japan where Science and Maths rules, they speaks Japanese, not English.

If some of us urging that English is "knowledge language",I believe you should re-consider your mind. What is language?Language is the art of human communication.Artist uses artistic languages, scientist uses scientific languages, and politicians uses political languages. As simple as that. So,for me,whatever make students understand, use that language.

Well, what kind of language Adam and Eve/Hawa has spoken?Arab?English?Malay?

p/s:sorry for my poor english.

Language Fetish

“Having said that, I’m not asserting that our students have no capability to pass the IELTS and TOEFL papers. It is just that certain parties do not see this irony. The irony is while they think that they are doing the nation a favour, they are actually lost in obsession and fetishism.”

Been reading the newspaper the past few weeks, there seems to be a conflict between certain parties on the use of the English particularly on the teaching of science and mathematics. On one side we have the government who wants English to be used while on the other side we have generally, two main parties, who each advocate for the use of BM and Mandarin in science and mathematics respectively. This time what the government wants to do is not of concern. What is of my concern is the stand of these two other groups.

I’m not too sure what the fuss is all about but if either of these groups have it their way, we are certainly going to bring our country, especially our children down the drain. I wonder if these people have been through any education at all. As it is, we are not going to achieve much if we are adamant on being obsessed with our identity. What can we gain through the use of BM or Mandarin? Is it because that as Malaysians we have to be proud of our national language that we have to use it? Or because we are Chinese and therefore we have to be proud of our mother tongue that we have to use Mandarin? This is utter rubbish. Why?

Whether we like it or not, today, here, right now, most if not all the language of knowledge is in English. Together with it, there are certainly others, being French, German, Russian or Japanese. Nevertheless as part of the Commonwealth, the English language is one that we should be able to command easily. Go to any university; go through all the courses, visit any library and you will find that easily all the main and latest literatures are all in English. There are hardly any original or new literatures in BM or even in Mandarin. Isn’t it funny? All new ideas are found expressed in English but here we are obsessed with learning in BM and/or Mandarin. So instead on progressing we are actually digressing. This where they’ll say and tell us, “Hey lets all go backwards. We want to be dumb and stupid.”

It is still acceptable to use these two languages provided we have intellectually capable teachers and lecturers. Then even if they do not know English or do not teach in English, it would not bring disaster. The Japanese and French are good examples. The problem is we don’t. Here not only are they not intellectually competent, they can’t, or more precise, refuse to use English. I have yet to meet one who does not know English but is intellectually capable. All that are intellectually capable use, or have used, and are able to use, English. You expect our students to progress without learning in English? What we’ll have is the blind leading the blind.

To add to this, all, if not most of the top universities in the world use English as their medium of instruction. How do we expect our students to go to the best institutions when they can’t even command English? Here we shout and cry for the use of BM or our mother tongue, be it for purposes of identity, or as our national language, or so that we don’t become a traitor to our own race. We make a policy that even in our local universities, BM has to be used.

This is where the problem gets complicated. Say you want to continue your studies in a university overseas, at first instance you won’t be qualified as English is not your medium of instruction and because of this you either have to sit for the IELTS or the TOEFL. So an entry to a local public university does not help but actually impedes your attempt to enter a top university overseas. Thus education in a local public university does not help you; instead it makes it more difficult for you to pursue your education at a top overseas university.

Having said that, I’m not asserting that our students have no capability to pass the IELTS and TOEFL papers. It is just that certain parties do not see this irony. The irony is while they think that they are doing the nation a favour, they are actually lost in obsession and fetishism.

Kuala Terengganu Election:If I'm a voter of Kuala Terengganu,I will vote...

Maimun Yusof,89 years old,was an independent candidate of Kuala Terengganu election last March. The by-election in Kuala Terengganu will held in January 2009,after KT MP,Razali Ismail died in heart attack last November.

So,both sides,Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat has now start to open new battlefield political wars, and Barisan Nasional are seeking revenge after shameful performance in General Election 2008,and severe lost at Permatang Pauh.

Kuala Terengganu is an open battlefield for both sides.Permatang Pauh was one-sided,and Pakatan Rakyat candidate on that election,is indeed, the general of Pakatan Rakyat,a field marshall.

Now,Barisan Nasional got open chance to proof that "the empire strikes back".

But I always hate dictatorship. If BN wins Kuala Terengganu election,it will be a moral boost for them, after BN's general Abdullah Ahmad Badawi seems weak to handle the situation.Najib tun Razak will be a dictator, but unlike Mahathir,he is not smart as Malaysian 4th Prime Minister.

Well,I personally will glad to see Pakatan Rakyat reign in power. But seems the candidate of Kuala Terengganu by election will be represented by PAS,plus, the candidate will be Muhammad Sabu,I withdraw my support to them.

I will support any pragmatic and genius leader to lead.Anwar Ibrahim is one genetic breed of genius leadership,so does Mahathir. That's why Malaysia enjoyed 8-10 percent of economic growth from 1992-1997.That's why Malaysian are confident to achieve Vision 2020,which already Mahathir "pessimisticly" view it-will fail.

If Pakatan Rakyat candidate for Kuala Terengganu is from PKR,I will support Pakatan Rakyat at the first place. But since it's from PAS,well,I can consider if it's Husam Musa or Dr Lo Lo,but Muhammad Sabu?

I rather see 89 years old grandmom, around the town with her bicycle, rather than this typical "pakcik pakai kopiah suka cakap kuat-kuat dalam ceramah".

She might be lost in this election. At least she is honest with what she promised to Kuala Terengganu, although she won't be able to do all of her task as MP.

I will vote DAP,I will vote PKR,but I won't vote PAS.I don't like the idea of religion being used in politics.Religion is sacred, and politics is dirty, too dirty for religion to be dragged.

I love my religion.I just don't want it to be used by those hypocrite people.

Girl Power Maimun Yusof!

Kedaulatan Raja-Raja Melayu wajar dikembalikan

Menurut kenyataan Teh Tarik,
